Dog Park Rules as set out by the City of St. Thomas:
As a condition of entering this park, dog owners and custodians must read and agree to be bound by the following:
1. Park is open sunrise to sunset only.
2. All dogs shall wear visible, valid and up to date license and rabies vaccination tags.
3. Park users and dog owners/custodians assume all risks for injury or loss of any kind to themselves and their dogs, recognizing the inherent risks involved in exercising over natural terrain and mixing various dogs in a free range area.
4. Owners are fully responsible for their dog’s actions and for any injuries or damages arising from their dog’s behavior. The Dog Owner’s Liability Act applies in this Park.
5. Dog owners/custodians must carry a leash at all times and closely supervise their dogs. At no time may the owner/custodian exit the fenced area without his/her dog(s).
6. Each owner/custodian must be an adult and shall not supervise more than three dogs while in the park.
7. Excessive barking is prohibited. Dogs barking excessively must be removed.
8. Dogs exhibiting aggressive behaviour are to be removed immediately.
9. DOG FECES must be cleaned up immediately by owners/custodians and properly disposed of in the containers provided.
10. Owners/custodians must fill any holes created by their dogs and report any observations of gaps or weaknesses in the boundary fencing.
11. PROHIBITED from entering this Park are:
· children, unless under strict adult supervision at all times
· dogs with any sickness
· dogs designated as dangerous under City By-Law or required to wear a muzzle when at large
· female dogs in heat
· puppies under 4 months of age
· dogs not wearing valid license and rabies tags
· all domestic animals other than dogs
