Waterworks Park

Waterworks Park is a diverse park with ample space to walk and explore.  It is the first publicly owned park in St. Thomas and originated in the early 1900s.  It has seen many transformations and changes over the years, yet still retains the charm that make it one of the most popular places for family gatherings in our area.

The bridges and flowers have made Waterworks one of the favorite places for all types of photography over the years.  The original gardens were started by the PUC in 1932 and are now maintained by City Parks and Rec Department.

If you take the time to walk and stroll you will find many kinds of wildlife that “hang out” at the park. This is their home.

We hope you have enjoyed our little ‘stroll’ through Waterworks. There are many things you will find at different times of the year including spectacular water lilies, the elusive resident beaver, and the carp spawning below the dam.  Have fun, and don’t forget to pick up after your dog…
